I have always had a passion for teaching and helping others. Growing up, my playroom was decorated like a classroom. I made lesson plans for my neighbors. I even had a treasure chest and gave out report cards. As I got older, my teachers would have me pull out students who were struggling with a topic when we needed to move on. I still remember the time in sixth grade when I pulled a girl out into the hallway during math to explain rotations to her. That is when I really learned that not everyone learns the same way. I believe that each student is unique. I also believe in the teaching of the whole child. Building a trusting relationship between the teacher and the learner is so important for this social and character development to happen.
