Content Knowledge

Rationale: Content knowledge is the body of knowledge that teachers teach to students. I believe that teachers should be masters in the content before teaching. Teachers should also be aware of the tools of inquiry and differentiation in order to make content meaningful for learners. These are tools that I will bring to my own classroom one day. At Auburn, I have had the opportunity of learning new things in all of the courses I have taken. Some of these courses include:

Math: Math for Elementary Ed I,II, and III

Science: Concepts of Science, Biology, Geology

English: American Literature

Social Studies: World History, Geography

COUN: Living and Communicating in a Diverse Society

COMM: Public Speaking

EDUC: Orientation to Teacher Education

FOUN: Diversity Learners and Development & Child Development, Learning, Motivation and Assessment

EDMD: Utilization Instructional Technology for Education, Media for Children

PSYCH: Developmental Psychology

RSED: Diversity and Exceptionality of Learners

This is my final project from my Spanish Phonetics class. Throughout the semester, I had online video chats with people in Mexico and Spain. After the video chats, I reflected on their pronunciations and transcribed some of our conversations. I think that my knowledge of Spanish will be very useful in the classroom and communicating with families. Click on the title to read my paper!
